Shahab & Co., based in Karachi, Pakistan, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee high-rise construction projects from mobilisation through to final handover. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise and proven experience in delivering high-rise buildings, demonstrating the ability to lead large site teams while effectively managing quality, timelines, costs, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full site execution including excavation, shoring, raft and pile foundations, basements, core walls, typical floors, and roof construction.
- Develop and maintain the master schedule using Primavera P6 or MS Project, incorporating weekly look-ahead plans and floor-cycle targets.
- Plan and coordinate tower crane operations, hoists, concrete pumping, and formwork cycles to ensure timely floor turnaround.
- Review and coordinate structural, architectural, and MEP drawings to resolve clashes before site implementation.
- Manage MEP installations such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, firefighting and alarm systems, lifts, and generators.
- Supervise façade and glazing works, waterproofing, and finishing of common areas and apartments.
- Oversee subcontractors, site engineers, supervisors, and labor teams through daily briefings and progress reviews.
- Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors on Bills of Quantities (BOQs), subcontractor billing, variations, and cost control measures.
- Work closely with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials, avoiding delays in steel, concrete, and finishes.
- Enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols on site, including working at height, lifting plans, scaffolding, PPE usage, and toolbox talks.
- Maintain quality standards through Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), pour checklists, cube testing, and snag lists.
- Manage SBCA and other authority inspections and approvals, preparing all necessary completion documentation.
- Provide weekly progress reports to management and clients, including photos, schedule updates, cost status, and risk assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BE/BSc) from NED, UET, or an equivalent institution. PEC registration is mandatory.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction, with at least 5 years specifically managing high-rise projects (G+12 floors or above).
- Demonstrated successful delivery of at least one high-rise project from structural works through to final handover.
- Strong technical knowledge of RCC high-rise construction, post-tensioning techniques, and MEP coordination.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or MS Project, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage over 100 workers and multiple subcontractors simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
