The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing project delivery across multiple teams, ensuring smooth execution and timely completion. This role involves close collaboration with the Head of Technology and technical leads to manage resources, identify risks, and maintain momentum throughout the project lifecycle. A key focus will be leading the development and continuous improvement of an automated project-management system to reduce manual effort and enhance reporting accuracy, enabling better decision-making and risk management.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor progress against scope and commitments, identify delays early, and coordinate corrective actions. Maintain visibility of outstanding tasks across projects, including carryovers from previous sprints.
- Resource and Dependency Coordination: Collaborate with the Head of Technology and technical leads to align resources, priorities, and capacity. Challenge unrealistic plans and highlight competing demands, ensuring priority conflicts are escalated with clear options and recommendations.
- Active Ownership and Follow-Through: Ensure all work has clear ownership. Address blockers, overdue actions, and unresolved dependencies promptly by engaging relevant stakeholders and escalating issues when necessary. Maintain accountability until resolution.
- Project Monitoring and Risk Management: Track progress against plans, identify emerging risks, and differentiate genuine progress from unsupported updates. Investigate exceptions, challenge inaccurate forecasts, and drive necessary decisions and actions.
- Budget and Effort Management: Monitor estimated versus actual development effort, identify potential overruns, and communicate commercial implications. Ensure scope changes and additional work receive proper review and approval.
- Agile Delivery: Support sprint planning, backlog management, delivery reviews, and team ceremonies that add value. Help teams maintain priorities and momentum, adapting processes to improve outcomes while embracing AI and automation to minimize unnecessary administration.
- Automated Project Management: Lead the design and enhancement of an automated project-management layer in partnership with the Head of Technology, AI & Innovation Lead, and technical leads. This includes automated status collection, milestone tracking, visibility of dependencies, risk alerts, effort and budget analysis, and management reporting. Define requirements, coordinate implementation, and validate results to improve delivery information reliability.
- Communication and Reporting: Provide concise, regular updates to senior stakeholders including the Head of Technology and COO, focusing on progress, risks, blockers, and decisions needed. Shift focus toward interpreting data and recommending interventions as routine reporting becomes automated.
- Continuous Improvement: Use delivery data, team feedback, and reviews to identify recurring issues and enhance delivery processes. Ensure improvement actions are assigned and completed, supporting predictable delivery, higher quality, and stronger commercial control.
