Project Supervisor-Corrugated Carton Manufacturing Unit

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Project Supervisor to lead the establishment and commissioning of a medium-sized corrugated carton manufacturing facility in Karachi, Pakistan. This full-time position demands a professional with extensive experience in managing manufacturing projects, particularly in factory setup, machinery installation, and commissioning. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. This role requires hands-on involvement in coordinating technical, operational, and logistical activities while maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the entire project setup and commissioning process for the corrugated carton manufacturing unit. Coordinate civil works, machinery installation, utilities, electrical systems, and production line setup to ensure seamless integration. Develop and monitor detailed project schedules, track progress, and implement corrective measures to meet approved timelines and budget constraints. Liaise with machinery suppliers, contractors, consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution. Oversee the installation, alignment, testing, trial runs, and commissioning of corrugation and carton manufacturing machinery. Support machinery selection, conduct technical evaluations, assist in procurement processes, and participate in vendor negotiations as necessary. Manage factory layout planning, material flow, production areas, warehouse organization, and finished goods storage to optimize operational efficiency. Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, fire safety protocols, and relevant statutory regulations. Assist in recruiting and training the initial technical and production teams during the project ramp-up phase. Prepare regular progress reports, budget updates, timelines, and management briefings to keep all parties informed. Proactively identify project risks and resolve technical, operational, and coordination challenges promptly.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. A minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within corrugated carton, paper, packaging, printing, or manufacturing project environments. Demonstrated hands-on expertise in factory or plant setup, machinery installation, commissioning, and project coordination. Strong knowledge of corrugated carton manufacturing processes and machinery is highly desirable. Familiarity with plant layout design, utilities management, maintenance practices, production flow, and industrial safety standards. Proven ability to manage vendors, contractors, and complex project activities effectively. Capacity to work independently while handling multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Excellent communication, coordination, problem-solving, and reporting skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information

Candidates with prior experience in establishing new manufacturing facilities from project inception through to commercial production will be preferred. The role requires on-site presence in Karachi to ensure hands-on supervision and effective coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
