Project Trainee-Legal

The Project Trainee will play a vital role in supporting the in-house Legal team by providing proactive and detail-oriented assistance. This position offers hands-on experience with legal technology and AI adoption, contract lifecycle management, commercial contracting, litigation support, legal research, and ongoing process improvements. The trainee will engage with various aspects of legal operations, gaining valuable exposure to both the technical and substantive sides of corporate legal work.

Key Responsibilities

- Contribute to legal technology and AI initiatives by developing training materials, user guides, and supporting documentation to facilitate smooth adoption.
- Support the implementation and use of the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform through tasks such as data migration, template creation, system testing, and conducting user training sessions.
- Assist in standardizing contracting processes by maintaining contract templates, clause libraries, playbooks, and self-service guidance materials.
- Conduct legal research and provide support on governance, compliance, and other departmental projects as required.
- Aid in the review, drafting, and redlining of commercial contracts under the supervision of Legal Counsel.
- Support litigation and dispute resolution activities by managing documents, preparing case materials, and maintaining matter trackers.
- Maintain accurate records and trackers, managing multiple priorities efficiently and ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Required Qualifications

- Currently pursuing or recently completed an LLB or an equivalent legal qualification.
- Demonstrated strong interest in corporate and commercial law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Previous internship experience within a law firm or an in-house legal team is highly desirable.
- Exposure to Contract Lifecycle Management systems or other legal technology platforms will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with AI tools and a keen interest in their responsible application within legal work.
