Project Trainee-Legal

The Project Trainee will play a vital role in supporting the in-house Legal team by providing proactive and detail-oriented assistance across various legal functions. This position offers hands-on experience with legal technology and AI adoption, contract lifecycle management, commercial contracting, litigation support, legal research, and continuous process improvement. The role is designed to enhance practical legal skills while contributing to the modernization of legal processes within the organization. This is a one-year contractual position.

Key Responsibilities

- Contribute to legal technology and AI initiatives by developing training materials, user guides, and supporting documentation to facilitate smooth adoption.
- Support the implementation and adoption of the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform through activities such as data migration, template creation, system testing, and user training.
- Assist in standardizing contracting processes by maintaining contract templates, clause libraries, playbooks, and self-service guidance materials.
- Conduct legal research and provide support for governance, compliance, and various departmental projects.
- Assist Legal Counsel with the review, drafting, and redlining of commercial contracts.
- Support litigation and dispute resolution efforts by managing documents, preparing case materials, and maintaining matter trackers.
- Maintain accurate records, trackers, and supporting documentation while managing multiple priorities efficiently and within deadlines.

Required Qualifications

- Currently pursuing or recently completed an LLB or an equivalent legal qualification.
- Strong interest in corporate and commercial law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous internship experience in a law firm or an in-house legal team.
- Exposure to Contract Lifecycle Management systems or other legal technology platforms.
- Familiarity with AI tools and a keen interest in their responsible application within legal work.
- Interest in areas such as antitrust, corporate law, procurement, or contract management.
