Job Overview
Manager GIS is responsible for defining, coordinating, and leading the implementation of the organization’s geographic information strategies and initiatives for GIS software implementation and business unit utilization. Responsible for feasible & economical ODN - OSP plans regarding Fiber (GPON, FTTH) duct & Copper Network. Protection / Rehabilitation plans of existing copper & fiber network.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and monitor the GIS web portal according to the feedback of field teams.
- Monitoring performance against plans and establishing resolution actions for any variances from plans.
- Managing, monitoring and evaluating the work of GIS staff.
- Recommending and, where appropriate, developing GIS and related training programs.
- Coordinating GIS-related activities with user departments.
- Providing technical and project management support.
- Providing an interface between GIS staff and consulting professionals working within the organization.
- Coordinating and leading GIS initiatives with external organizations.
- Managing GIS committees at technical and management level.
- Acting as liaison with related external organizations
- Digitization of Existing copper & Fiber network, Surveyed data & updating as-built drawings in GIS.
- Extending GIS support for network planning (wireline & wireless)
- Provide Technical OSP/operational feedback related to spatial aspects of telecom infrastructure.
- Attend meetings and Coordinate with relevant teams for location data arrangement toward completion of routine assignments in time.
- Develop maps, presentations and provide support to development teams for their working.
- Conduct GPS /GIS utility training session for internal customers.
