- Assist in the procurement of edible oils from local and international markets and planning of same.
- Advise Oil Buyer on the right costing and pricing of oils being purchased (local oils)
- Advise Oil Buyer on the right time to purchase and availability of oils in the market (local oils).
- Coordinate with the local oil suppliers (Oil mills, expellers, solvent plants) to ensure on-time deliveries and manage delivery schedules.
- Oil inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels.
Knowledge/skill requirements of Supply Chain Executive – Oils:
Knowledge:
- Commercial dynamics of the solvent extraction industry and local oil expeller industry.
- Sources and costing of local and imported oil seeds for the solvent industry, including availability of different types of seeds and expected costs though out the year.
- Expected end cost/price of edible oils being produced by the solvent industry, including current and future availability of oils.
- Knowledge/contacts in the solvent extraction industry
- Procurement and supply chain (preferred)
