PyCharm Specialist

This is an hourly, remote contractor opportunity for a PyCharm Specialist (Subject Matter Expert) to develop realistic and challenging computer-based tasks using PyCharm and Python development workflows. The role involves designing practical PyCharm tasks, documenting them clearly in SuperAnnotate, ensuring the technical setup supports the task, and recording the task execution on your computer. These tasks may include creating Python projects, configuring interpreters, managing virtual environments, running and debugging scripts, using terminal commands, installing packages, formatting and refactoring code, integrating Git, and working with test files. Your contributions will support the training of advanced AI models by demonstrating how real users complete Python development workflows within an IDE.

This position is with SME Careers, a rapidly growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate. The company delivers training data for some of the world’s largest AI organizations and foundation-model labs. Your expertise in PyCharm will directly contribute to improving leading AI models by teaching them practical Python coding and debugging processes as performed by real users.

Key Responsibilities

- Create realistic PyCharm tasks that are both challenging and executable within the PyCharm environment, then document these tasks clearly using SuperAnnotate.
- Prepare the work environment by ensuring PyCharm is installed, projects and files are ready, interpreters are configured, dependencies are installed, and all necessary references are available before recording.
- Record yourself executing the PyCharm tasks on your computer, following project instructions carefully to ensure workflows are clear, complete, and realistic.
- Provide comprehensive task context, including steps, goals, project files, dependencies, and notes, so reviewers fully understand the task and how it was completed.
- Demonstrate practical software use by completing workflows involving coding, debugging, run configurations, virtual environments, terminal commands, Git integration, package installation, or test execution as applicable.
- Maintain high submission quality by reviewing recordings and documentation to ensure tasks are complete, understandable, realistic, and aligned with project guidelines.

Required Qualifications

- Proven hands-on experience using PyCharm for Python development, including debugging, project setup, package management, refactoring, terminal workflows, and Git integration.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher to comprehend project instructions, document tasks clearly, and communicate effectively with the project team.
- Comfort and proficiency with computer operations such as managing files, opening projects, configuring interpreters, installing packages, and recording workflows.
- Ability to design realistic and challenging PyCharm tasks that reflect genuine coding, debugging, scripting, automation, testing, or project setup scenarios.
- Strong understanding of PyCharm fundamentals, including project structure, interpreters, virtual environments, run configurations, debugger, terminal, code navigation, and version control.
- Capability to ensure your technical setup fully supports the task requirements, including having PyCharm installed, relevant files/projects available, dependencies installed, and necessary references prepared before recording.
- High attention to detail in task preparation, workflow execution, and quality checking of recordings to ensure clarity and completeness.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to consistently deliver quality work in an hourly, remote contractor capacity across different time zones.
