(Python + AI) – Backend Software Engineer

CoderzHunt is seeking a skilled Software Engineer II with a focus on backend development and AI systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and building scalable software, APIs, and AI-powered applications that address real-world business challenges. This role requires a hands-on approach to developing backend services using Python and integrating AI technologies to enhance product capabilities. The position is based in Johar Town, Lahore, and immediate joiners are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain APIs, backend services, and integrations primarily using Python.
- Participate in system design activities including API architecture, database schema design, and ensuring performance and scalability.
- Develop features involving large language models (LLMs), AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and automation workflows.
- Take ownership of assigned features from requirement gathering through development, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Integrate third-party APIs, webhooks, databases, and various business platforms to enhance system functionality.
- Write clean, maintainable code supported by automated tests and conduct thorough code reviews.
- Support cloud-based deployments using Docker, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, logging, and monitoring tools.
- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, designers, and project managers to deliver cohesive solutions.
- Utilize AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI while ensuring code quality and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, improving the reliability and stability of existing systems.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, authentication mechanisms, asynchronous processing, and software design patterns.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and external services.
- Proficiency in SQL databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, message queues, and serverless computing.
- Basic to intermediate experience with LLM applications, including prompt engineering, embeddings, RAG, AI agents, or LLM API integrations.
- Practical experience using generative AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI).
- Working knowledge of TypeScript and Angular frameworks.
- Experience with major cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud, but AWS or Azure is acceptable.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Agile methodologies, and automated testing frameworks.
- Understanding of application security best practices, error handling, logging, and debugging techniques.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, inquisitive mindset.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Experience with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Google ADK.
- Familiarity with vector databases like Qdrant, Pinecone, Chroma, or pgvector.
- Knowledge of message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Google Pub/Sub.
- Exposure to Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, or cloud-native development practices.
- Experience with workflow automation tools like n8n or Mastra.
