We are seeking a QA Engineer with 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience to join our team and help deliver reliable, high-quality software. In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, project managers, and designers throughout the entire development lifecycle—from reviewing requirements to verifying production releases. This position involves a mix of manual testing and increasing responsibility for test automation, making it ideal for someone eager to move beyond executing test cases and actively contribute to embedding quality into the product.
Key Responsibilities
- Review product requirements, user stories, and designs to identify gaps, edge cases, and testability issues early in the process.
- Develop clear, well-structured test plans, test cases, and scenarios for new features as well as regression coverage.
- Execute various testing types including functional, regression, integration, smoke, exploratory, and UI/UX testing on web and/or mobile platforms.
- Test REST APIs using tools like Postman, validating responses, status codes, error handling, and data integrity.
- Create and maintain automated test scripts for both UI and API workflows, contributing to the expansion of the automation suite.
- Log, track, and retest defects using bug tracking tools such as Jira or ClickUp, providing detailed reproduction steps, evidence, and prioritization.
- Perform basic backend data validation using SQL queries.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Support release readiness activities, including sign-off testing and post-release verification.
- Integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines and monitor their execution results.
- Continuously improve QA processes, documentation, and team best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of professional experience in software quality assurance or testing roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Proficient in various testing techniques such as boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, negative testing, and exploratory testing.
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman or similar.
- Experience working with at least one automation framework such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Programming or scripting skills in .Net Core, JavaScript, or Java.
- Working knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools like Jira and ClickUp.
- Experience with Git and version control workflows.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with clear written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
- Experience testing AI or large language model (LLM)-powered features, including evaluating output accuracy, consistency, hallucinations, bias, and prompt edge cases.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools for test generation, maintenance, or analysis.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Knowledge of performance and load testing tools like JMeter or k6.
- Basic understanding of security testing concepts, including OWASP Top 10.
- Experience with behavior-driven development (BDD) tools such as Cucumber or design patterns like the Page Object Model.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or containerization technologies like Docker.
- Experience with claims management systems or workflows, including intake, validation, adjudication, and settlement processes.
- Familiarity with the US healthcare domain, especially handling sensitive patient data and HIPAA compliance awareness.
Key Competencies
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex features and anticipate potential failure points.
- Ownership: Takes full responsibility for product quality beyond just executing assigned tests.
- Collaboration: Works effectively with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
- Curiosity: Continuously learns new testing tools and methodologies.
