We are seeking a dedicated Food Safety and Quality Assurance professional to support the development and implementation of food safety management systems within our organization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining high-quality operations, and promoting a culture of food safety and hygiene across all departments. This position requires hands-on involvement in audits, training, supplier evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives to uphold the integrity of our food safety programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring food safety management systems such as HACCP and ISO 22000.
- Ensure compliance with local health authorities and relevant food safety regulatory bodies.
- Support internal audits and coordinate third-party inspections as needed.
- Help develop and regularly update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and quality control.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure strict adherence to SOPs and quality standards.
- Train and guide staff on hygiene practices, food safety protocols, and quality procedures, including conducting refresher training sessions and maintaining accurate training records.
- Investigate customer complaints, non-conformities, and food safety incidents, implementing corrective actions and following up to verify their effectiveness.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, monitoring, and testing activities.
- Support product and ingredient traceability from sourcing through to service.
- Assist in evaluating and approving suppliers based on quality and safety criteria, and conduct supplier audits under supervision when necessary.
- Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Contribute actively to quality improvement initiatives across various departments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Sciences or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in quality assurance, food safety, or restaurant operations.
- Basic understanding of food safety standards such as HACCP and ISO 22000, along with knowledge of local regulatory requirements.
Location and Employment Details
This is a full-time, in-person position based in Clifton Block 4, Karachi. Candidates should be prepared to work on-site to effectively manage and oversee food safety and quality assurance activities.
