Qatar Charity is a Doha-Qatar based International Non-Governmental Organization. Since the inception of QC services in Pakistan early 1992, the organization reflect its greater scope of work to respond to extreme poverty and the Government’s priorities. QC through its field offices enabled itself to strategically address the developmental and humanitarian needs at the very local level. QC is undertaking programmes associated with the socio-economic development of the Country. The projects are categorized under six programme pillars: Youth Leadership & Social Protection, Education, Provision of WASH, Health (with a focus on MNCH), Economic Empowerment & Sustainable Livelihood (EESL) and Disaster Response & Preparedness (DRP), along with its Seasonal Programs like meat distribution, Ramadhan program etc. In Pakistan, Qatar Charity is having its country office in Islamabad and field offices in KPK, Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, and AJK.

Project Summary:

With financial support from UNICEF and Qatar Charity in collaboration with Local Government (LG&RDD), Balochistan and Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees (CARS), Qatar Charity is implementing a PATS Plus Project (RRP) for Afghan Refugees and Host Communities in Six Districts of Balochistan i.e., Quetta, Pishin, Muslim Bagh, Loralai, Chaman and Chaghi. The aim of the Project is to declare 100 villages Open Defecation free (ODF) in these Six Districts through Social Mobilization and Capacity Building of Local Community and different Stakeholders, to minimize the water borne diseases and bring a behavior change in the communities for the safe disposal of human excreta.

Job Description:

As part of the Program Unit and under the direct supervision of the Social Mobilization Unit, the incumbent of the post will have the following responsibilities:

  • Introduce Qatar Charity\'s RRP program to the local communities, mobilization, and formation of Village level WASH committees.
  • Carry out field related project activities and their reporting on prescribed formats.
  • Maintaining good relations with communities, notables, and local contact persons to involve them in project activities and seek their support wherever required.
  • Assist in developing a social mobilization strategy and spatial planning for QC project.
  • Mobilize/sensitize local communities towards project activities.
  • Develop village profile, identification of CRPs & assessment of beneficiaries for the project.
  • Coordinate closely with the project team for timely implementation of QC interventions.
  • Undertake regular field visits, conduct surveys in order to deliver project activities.
  • Identify problems and proposes remedial actions.
  • Identify alternative courses of action and accelerate/improve project delivery.
  • Prepare reports on the areas where QC work can be carried out using specific tools for gathering data, prepare the evaluation phases and implement the recommendations.
  • Prepare & submit weekly/ monthly work plans & progress report to the Project Officer.
  • Conduct triggering with community members using PRA tools for mobilization.
  • Conduct BCC/ hygiene promotion sessions at schools & community level
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Capacity building of CRPs, VWCs, local entrepreneurs on PATS Plus approach & to attain ODF status.
  • Roll out of project activities as per DIP & available budget.
  • Providing data of the field to Monitoring & Evaluation Section on time.
  • Responsible for coordination with all stakeholders at the Union Council/ village level.
