QC LAB TECHNICIAN – CONSTRUCTION

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented QC Lab Technician to perform construction material testing and quality control activities at various construction sites. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with construction material testing, laboratory equipment operation, and maintaining accurate quality records to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory and on-site testing of construction materials such as concrete, cement, aggregates, sand, and soil.
- Perform concrete slump tests, compressive strength tests, and concrete cube sampling and testing.
- Carry out soil compaction, moisture content, field density, and other relevant soil tests.
- Test aggregates for grading, sieve analysis, and other required properties.
- Collect, label, prepare, and maintain material samples following established testing procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory testing equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Ensure all tests comply with project specifications and applicable standards such as ASTM and AASHTO.
- Maintain accurate test reports, laboratory registers, sample records, and material inspection documentation.
- Monitor the quality of incoming construction materials and report any non-conformance issues promptly.
- Coordinate with QC Engineers, Site Engineers, consultants, and laboratory personnel regarding testing schedules and results.
- Assist in preparing quality control reports and material test documentation for inspections and audits.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of samples and laboratory materials in accordance with safety protocols.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain cleanliness and organization of the testing area.
- Immediately report any failed test results or quality concerns to the QC Engineer or site management.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Materials Testing, or a related technical field.
- 8 to 10 years of practical experience as a QC Lab Technician in construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of testing procedures for concrete, soil, cement, sand, and aggregates.
- Experience with concrete cube testing, slump tests, sieve analysis, and soil compaction tests.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment, sampling protocols, and relevant testing standards.
- Ability to prepare detailed and accurate test reports and maintain comprehensive quality documentation.
- Understanding of construction quality control procedures and material specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail, technical accuracy, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to work full-time at construction sites and perform field testing as required.

Compensation and Work Location:
The position offers a monthly salary ranging from Rs50,000 to Rs75,000. This role requires in-person attendance at construction sites to carry out testing and quality control activities.
