We are seeking a QA Engineer with 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience to join our team and help deliver reliable, high-quality software. In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, project managers, and designers throughout the entire development lifecycle—from reviewing requirements to verifying production releases. The position involves a mix of manual testing and increasing responsibility for test automation, making it ideal for someone eager to move beyond executing test cases and contribute to embedding quality into the product from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Review product requirements, user stories, and designs to identify gaps, edge cases, and testability issues early in the process.
- Develop clear and well-structured test plans, test cases, and scenarios for new features and regression testing.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, smoke, exploratory, and UI/UX testing on web and/or mobile applications.
- Perform REST API testing using tools such as Postman, validating responses, status codes, error handling, and data integrity.
- Create and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API workflows, contributing to the growth of the automation suite.
- Log, track, and retest defects using bug tracking tools like Jira or ClickUp, providing detailed reproduction steps, evidence, and prioritization.
- Execute basic database validations using SQL to ensure backend data accuracy.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Support release readiness activities, including sign-off testing and post-release verification.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitor their results.
- Continuously improve QA processes, documentation, and team best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of professional experience in software quality assurance or testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Proficient in various testing techniques such as boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, negative testing, and exploratory testing.
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman.
- Experience with at least one test automation framework such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Programming or scripting skills in .Net Core, JavaScript, or Java.
- Working knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira and ClickUp.
- Experience with Git and version control workflows.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing AI or large language model (LLM)-powered features, including evaluating output accuracy, consistency, hallucinations, bias, and prompt edge cases.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools for test generation, maintenance, or analysis.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Exposure to performance and load testing tools like JMeter or k6.
- Basic understanding of security testing concepts, including OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
- Knowledge of BDD tools such as Cucumber or design patterns like the Page Object Model.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization tools like Docker.
- Background in claims management systems, including workflows for intake, validation, adjudication, and settlement.
- Experience in the US healthcare domain, particularly with sensitive patient data and HIPAA compliance awareness.
Key Competencies
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex features and anticipate potential failure points.
- Ownership: Takes responsibility for overall quality rather than just executing assigned tests.
- Collaboration: Works effectively with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
- Curiosity: Continuously learns new tools and testing methodologies.
- Prioritization: Focuses testing efforts on areas of highest risk and user impact, especially under tight deadlines.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow your career in QA by taking on more ownership of automation and quality processes while working in a collaborative Agile environment.
