We are seeking a QA Engineer with 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience to join our team and contribute to delivering reliable, high-quality software. In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, project managers, and designers throughout the entire development lifecycle—from reviewing requirements to validating releases in production. This position blends manual testing with increasing responsibility for test automation, making it ideal for someone eager to move beyond executing test cases toward actively shaping how quality is integrated into the product.
Key Responsibilities
- Review product requirements, user stories, and designs to identify gaps, edge cases, and testability concerns early in the process.
- Develop clear, well-structured test plans, test cases, and scenarios for new features as well as regression coverage.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, exploratory, and UI/UX testing on web and/or mobile applications.
- Test REST APIs using tools like Postman, validating responses, status codes, error handling, and data integrity.
- Create and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API workflows, contributing to the growth of the automation suite.
- Log, track, and retest defects using bug tracking tools such as Jira or ClickUp, providing clear reproduction steps, evidence, and severity/priority assessments.
- Perform basic database validations using SQL to verify backend data accuracy.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Support release readiness activities, including sign-off testing and post-release verification.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitor test outcomes.
- Continuously improve QA processes, documentation, and team best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of professional experience in software quality assurance or testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Proficient in testing techniques such as boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, negative testing, and exploratory testing.
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman.
- Experience with at least one automation framework such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Programming or scripting skills in .Net Core, JavaScript, or Java.
- Working knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools like Jira and ClickUp.
- Experience with Git and version control workflows.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Experience
- Experience testing AI/LLM-powered features, including evaluating output accuracy, consistency, hallucinations, bias, and prompt edge cases.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools for test generation, maintenance, or analysis.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Knowledge of performance and load testing tools like JMeter or k6.
- Basic understanding of security testing concepts, including OWASP Top 10.
- Experience with BDD tools such as Cucumber or design patterns like the Page Object Model.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or containerization technologies like Docker.
- Experience in claims management systems, including workflows such as intake, validation, adjudication, and settlement.
- Background working on US healthcare domain products, with awareness of handling sensitive patient data and HIPAA compliance.
Key Competencies
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex features and anticipate potential failure points.
- Ownership: Takes responsibility for overall quality rather than just executing assigned tests.
- Collaboration: Works constructively with developers to reproduce and resolve issues efficiently.
- Curiosity: Continuously learns new tools and innovative testing approaches.
- Prioritization: Focuses testing efforts on areas of highest risk and user impact, especially under tight deadlines.
This role offers the opportunity to grow your expertise in both manual and automated testing while playing a vital part in delivering exceptional software quality.
