Quality Assurance Engineer

AIM, a Canadian technology company specializing in API management, cloud engineering, security solutions, and full-stack development, is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join its remote team based in Pakistan. This full-time role reports to the QA Lead or Engineering Manager and offers the opportunity to work on scalable, secure digital platforms for enterprise clients across North America and globally. The ideal candidate will blend strong software testing fundamentals with practical experience in leveraging Generative AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). This position requires a hands-on approach to manual and automated testing, API validation, and AI-assisted quality engineering to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, cases, and strategies covering functional, regression, integration, smoke, exploratory, and user acceptance testing for web and mobile applications.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects to resolution while validating requirements and ensuring comprehensive feature coverage.
- Perform API testing using tools like Postman, validating request/response payloads, authentication, and data integrity; conduct backend testing and database validation with SQL queries.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks; support CI/CD pipelines and enhance automation coverage and framework reliability.
- Utilize AI technologies (Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, etc.) to generate AI-assisted test cases, plans, and scripts; accelerate exploratory testing and defect identification; perform defect triage and root cause analysis using AI-enhanced workflows.
- Produce high-quality QA documentation leveraging AI-assisted techniques and identify opportunities to improve engineering efficiency through responsible AI adoption.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and DevOps teams; actively participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to QA best practices, standards, process improvements, release validation, and production readiness activities.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of experience in software QA, Quality Engineering, or Software Testing.
- Proven expertise in automated testing with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent frameworks.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
- Hands-on experience testing web and/or mobile applications.
- Proficiency in API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of SQL for backend validation and testing.
- Experience with QA platforms such as Jira, TestRail, or Zephyr.
- Practical use of Generative AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, etc.) integrated within the SDLC.
- Ability to demonstrate AI-assisted test design and automation during the interview process.
- Completion of at least one recognized AI certification prior to joining AIM.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Candidates must also demonstrate practical experience in AI-assisted test case creation, test strategy development, exploratory testing, defect identification, prompt engineering for QA, automation script generation, AI-powered documentation, and responsible use of Generative AI technologies.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
