Nysonian is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead and enhance the quality assurance processes for its internal technology ecosystem. This role is critical in ensuring that complex systems supporting warehouse operations, inventory, finance, customer support, sales, marketing, and analytics are reliable and thoroughly validated before reaching production. The QA Manager will oversee end-to-end testing, including business logic, database accuracy, API behavior, integrations, workflows, permissions, and user-facing functionality. This position requires a hands-on approach to establish a strong quality gate between development and production, helping maintain system integrity as Nysonian scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the overall QA strategy and release-quality process for Nysonian’s internal systems.
- Develop and implement standardized QA procedures, test plans, release checklists, acceptance criteria, and sign-off requirements.
- Conduct thorough testing of ERP, CRM, WMS, operational dashboards, finance systems, and automation workflows.
- Validate functionality across the full system stack: front-end behavior, backend business logic, APIs and integrations, database records and transformations, automation workflows, and user permissions.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, API, database, and end-to-end testing.
- Ensure data accuracy between source systems and internal applications.
- Test critical integrations with platforms such as Shopify, ShipHero, Xero, AWS, and other operational systems.
- Reconcile system outputs against source data for financial, inventory, sales, and operational reporting.
- Build and maintain regression test suites to protect business-critical workflows during new feature deployments.
- Identify edge cases and potential failure scenarios before production release.
- Document defects clearly, including reproduction steps, severity, expected behavior, and evidence.
- Collaborate closely with developers, ERP leadership, DevOps, Data, Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Establish defect severity classifications and determine release-blocking defects.
- Conduct post-deployment validation for critical releases.
- Track recurring defects to identify root causes and recommend process or architectural improvements.
- Develop and expand automated testing where it enhances coverage and confidence.
- Provide management with transparent reporting on system quality, unresolved risks, release readiness, and defect trends.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of software QA experience, including leadership of QA processes or teams.
- Strong understanding of modern web application architecture.
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman or equivalents.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, with the ability to investigate discrepancies at the database level.
- Experience testing integrations across multiple systems.
- Skilled in regression and end-to-end testing methodologies.
- Ability to design structured test cases and comprehensive test plans.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalents.
- Comfortable working within Git-based development and deployment workflows.
- Deep understanding of bug lifecycle management, severity classification, release management, and root-cause analysis.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience with ERP or WMS platforms, e-commerce systems, Shopify, ShipHero, Xero, AWS environments, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Supabase, API-heavy architectures, data pipelines, BI dashboards, and automation platforms is highly valued.
