Quality Officer (MALE)

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Officer (Male) for the night shift to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of expanded polystyrene (EPS) products by monitoring and controlling various production parameters. This position requires hands-on experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment, particularly involving steam and boiler operations. The role is based in Lahore, with accommodation and meals provided for selected candidates.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Expansion Density Control: Monitor the density of raw EPS beads after steam pre-expansion, measured in kg/m³ or lbs/ft³. Maintaining the correct density is essential as it directly affects the thermal insulation (R-value) and mechanical strength of the final product.

Molding Parameter Audits: Track and audit block molding and shape molding cycle times, steam pressures, and vacuum cooling parameters. This helps prevent defects such as product shrinkage, fusion problems, and internal voids.

Fusion and Cross-Section Analysis: Conduct visual inspections of sliced Styrofoam blocks to verify proper fusion of expanded beads. Poor fusion can cause the material to crumble under physical stress.

Laboratory and Mechanical Testing:
- Compressive Strength Testing: Assess the material’s ability to withstand heavy construction loads without crushing.
- Flexural/Bending Testing: Ensure insulation sheets maintain integrity during transport and installation, preventing premature snapping.
- Moisture Content Measurement: Verify that blocks are adequately dried in aging rooms before hot-wire cutting, as trapped moisture can compromise dimensional accuracy and insulation quality.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have a solid understanding of manufacturing quality processes, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO management systems. Experience in production environments is essential, with specific knowledge of boiler and steam production operations highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Candidates from outside the city will be contacted for further discussion. The selected candidate will receive accommodation and three meals daily as part of the employment package. The monthly salary ranges from Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 50,000. The position requires in-person attendance at the facility located near Center Park, SUE-A-ASAL, Lahore.
