In this hourly, remote contractor position, you will serve as a Radiologist Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for reviewing AI-generated radiology and medical imaging responses. Your role involves evaluating the quality of clinical reasoning and step-by-step problem-solving while providing precise written feedback. You will assess solutions for accuracy, clarity, safety, and adherence to prompts, identifying errors related to imaging appropriateness, differential diagnosis reasoning, modality selection, protocol choices, incidental findings, and patient safety concerns such as contrast use, radiation exposure, pregnancy, allergies, and renal function. Additionally, you will fact-check imaging and clinical information, write high-quality explanations and model solutions demonstrating correct reasoning, and rate multiple responses based on correctness and reasoning quality.

This opportunity is with SME Careers, a rapidly growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate. The company provides training data for some of the world’s leading AI organizations and foundation-model labs. Your radiology expertise will directly contribute to improving premier AI models by enhancing their imaging decision-making, interpretation reasoning, and patient-facing explanations to be more accurate, reliable, and clearly communicated.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI Training Content: Create detailed prompts and gold-standard answers covering imaging appropriateness, protocols, differential diagnosis, and radiology reporting concepts.
- Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI-generated responses to improve clinical accuracy, safety, clarity, and contextual relevance.
- Ensure Model Integrity: Test AI outputs for inaccuracies, unsafe imaging recommendations, and bias; validate reliability across diverse patient populations and clinical scenarios.

Required Qualifications
- MD/DO (or equivalent) with completed Radiology residency (Diagnostic Radiology) and board eligibility or certification (or local equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in radiology practice, including academic, community, teleradiology, or subspecialty settings.
- Strong clinical reasoning skills, capable of translating clinical presentations into imaging strategies and constructing/prioritizing differential diagnoses based on imaging and clinical context.
- Deep understanding of imaging modalities, including their sensitivity, specificity, limitations, artifacts, and protocol impacts.
- Excellent judgment regarding patient safety, including contrast reactions, nephrotoxicity risks, pregnancy considerations, anticoagulation and procedural risks, and radiation dose principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail for fact-checking and identifying unsafe assumptions, missed critical diagnoses, or misleading explanations. English proficiency at a minimum C1 level is required.
- Ability to evaluate answers for internal consistency (clinical story, modality, findings, impression, next steps), appropriateness by clinical setting (emergency department, outpatient, inpatient), and patient safety implications.
- Reliable, self-directed, and capable of delivering consistent quality work in an hourly, remote contractor role across different time zones.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Prior experience with AI data training or annotation, radiology report quality assurance, peer review, utilization management, or medical editorial work is highly preferred.
- While there is no immediate project available, qualified candidates will be among the first contacted for future opportunities. This role also provides access to a network of expert projects, offering ongoing collaboration possibilities.

This position offers a unique chance to leverage your radiology expertise to shape the future of AI in medical imaging, ensuring safer, clearer, and more accurate clinical decision support tools worldwide.
