This fully remote role offers the opportunity to manage end-to-end financial reconciliation across a global portfolio of merchants, spanning the US, EU, and LATAM regions. The ideal candidate will work closely with complex payment data, business analytics, and support executive decision-making. This position is perfect for someone looking to advance their career in financial control within the fast-paced e-commerce and fintech space.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the complete reconciliation process for merchant entities, including matching invoices, acquirer/PSP settlements, payouts, and bank transactions at both merchant and MID levels.
- Reconcile chargeback-related costs and credits, such as dispute fees, rolling reserves, and reserve releases, ensuring alignment with acquirer and partner charges.
- Monitor payment plans and installment schedules, identifying overdue, overpaid, or in-transit amounts with clear status updates per merchant.
- Lead the monthly reconciliation close process, including managing exception logs, aging open items, documentation, and final sign-off.
- Act as a business controller for payments by tracking processing costs, refunds, and chargebacks by entity and geography. Analyze variances against budgets and forecasts, proactively flagging margin risks.
- Prepare concise and insightful reports for leadership on financial exposure, recoveries, and unresolved issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in reconciliation, financial control, or business controlling, preferably within payments, fintech, e-commerce, or subscription-based businesses.

- Experience managing financial processes across multiple entities, currencies (USD/EUR), and jurisdictions.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with the ability to handle large and complex datasets.
- Highly detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset that goes beyond identifying gaps to uncover root causes.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple open items simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of explaining complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience automating and standardizing reconciliation processes to improve efficiency.
- Familiarity with Visa/Mastercard dispute and monitoring programs such as VAMP, RDR, Ethoca, and Verifi.
