Recruit AI is seeking a highly organized and empathetic HR Officer specializing in People Operations and Compliance to join our fully remote Human Resources team. This role involves managing the comprehensive HR functions for approximately 50 employees across multiple sites. The ideal candidate ensures seamless execution of recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll support, and statutory compliance, while maintaining a strong focus on workforce compliance and employee lifecycle management. This role reports directly to executive leadership and involves close collaboration with operations management to support the workforce effectively. As an HR Officer at Recruit AI, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of human resources processes, including drafting and publishing job postings, conducting remote interviews, executing Right to Work checks, and maintaining detailed personnel records and compliance documentation. You will act as a primary contact for employee relations, managing attendance, disciplinary matters, grievances, and payroll preparation. The role requires a meticulous approach to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. While team management is not required, the position involves coordinating with multiple departments to ensure efficient HR operations aligned with company policies and labor regulations.
Responsibilities

Draft and publish detailed job postings across relevant recruitment platforms to attract qualified candidates.
Conduct initial remote video interviews and screen applicants to create a shortlist for executive review.
Issue employment contracts, offer letters, and policy handbooks in compliance with legal and company requirements.
Perform comprehensive Right to Work verifications and reference checks for all new hires.
Facilitate structured remote onboarding including comprehensive inductions to ensure new employees understand company culture and procedures.
Serve as the primary point of contact for workforce grievances, employee communication, and conflict resolution.
Maintain accurate tracking of attendance, sickness, tardiness, and leave records to identify patterns and support workforce planning.
Address employee underperformance and disciplinary issues through formal procedures consistent with company policy.
Manage logistics related to uniform distribution and inventory control to support operational needs.
Coordinate mandatory staff training modules, monitor participation, and provide reminders to ensure compliance.
Maintain meticulous digital personnel files and ensure all compliance documentation meets legal and internal standards.
Perform detailed payroll reconciliation by auditing timesheets, recording unpaid absences and sick leave, and submitting data for payroll processing.
Lead probationary milestone reviews at 30 and 90 days to evaluate new employee performance and fit within the organization.
Manage offboarding processes including exit interviews, retrieval of company property, and capturing employee feedback.
Conduct Return-to-Work interviews for employees following sick leave and assist with basic incident and accident reporting.
Work to establish efficient workflow processes in HR operations including attendance tracking, compliance audits, and payroll preparation.
Stay updated on statutory employment legislation to ensure company adherence and mitigate compliance risks.
