Recruit AI is seeking a skilled PLC & Machine Maintenance Engineer to ensure seamless operation and maintenance of industrial machinery. This role focuses on programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLC-controlled equipment to optimize production efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both electrical and mechanical maintenance, working independently to resolve issues quickly and support factory expansion projects. The role involves hands-on management of electrical control panels, sensors, drives, and machinery involved in coating, slitting, packing, and cutting processes, with attention to safety and operational compliance.
The engineer will execute preventive and breakdown maintenance, assist with machine installations and upgrades, and coordinate with vendors for technical support and procurement. Strong diagnostic skills and experience with various PLC brands are essential to excel in this role. While this position does not include team management responsibilities, effective communication and coordination with operators, suppliers, and contractors are critical for success. The maintenance engineer will also maintain documentation and support the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules, aiming to minimize downtime and improve machinery lifespan.
Responsibilities
- Program, troubleshoot, modify, and maintain PLC-controlled machinery, ensuring reliable automation processes.
- Diagnose and resolve faults related to PLCs, HMI systems, sensors, drives, servo motors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Develop and enhance automation systems to increase production efficiency and reduce operational delays.
- Maintain electrical control panels and industrial automation systems, ensuring all components function optimally.
- Coordinate with machine suppliers to integrate PLCs and troubleshoot automation challenges effectively.
- Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance on production machinery, including coating, slitting, packing, and cutting machines.
- Perform mechanical maintenance tasks related to dies, cutters, bearings, rollers, shafts, and pneumatic systems to maintain optimal machine performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical faults with technical precision, minimizing production downtime.
- Supervise installation, commissioning, and startup processes for new machinery, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and safety standards.
- Assist in modifying existing machines and improving manufacturing processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors during equipment installation and factory expansion projects to ensure smooth implementation.
- Procure electrical and automation equipment and spare parts, evaluate technical specifications, and maintain an inventory of critical components.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, breakdown records, and service reports for machinery and automation systems.
- Ensure all machinery complies with relevant safety standards and operational regulations.
- Support the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules to prolong machinery lifespan and reduce unexpected failures.
- Train machine operators and technicians on correct machine handling and safety procedures.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, machine schematics, and technical documentation to support maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
