We are seeking an experienced Transit Air Cargo Operations Manager to RELOCATE TO KABUL, AFGHANISTAN to lead and enhance the transit air cargo operations at Kabul. This role demands overseeing daily terminal activities to ensure seamless cargo handling, storage, and dispatch processes. The manager will coordinate effectively with airlines, freight forwarders, cargo agents, customs, and airport authorities to maintain a high standard of operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. Ensuring timely transfer of cargo between connecting flights is critical, along with maintaining accurate import, export, and transit documentation in line with aviation and customs regulations. The position includes supervising a dedicated team of 10 warehouse and cargo-handling staff, driving operational improvements and resolving issues promptly to sustain smooth cargo movement. The manager is responsible for developing efficient procedures for transit cargo handling, preparing operational reports, and monitoring overall performance. Strong experience in air cargo and related operational activities, coupled with excellent communication and coordination skills, will be essential for success in this role. Proficiency in English and familiarity with cargo management systems or airline/GDS systems will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Manage daily transit air-cargo terminal operations ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to operational standards.
Coordinate cargo receiving, handling, storage, transfer, and dispatch activities efficiently to meet tight schedules.
Liaise consistently with airlines, cargo agents, freight forwarders, customs, and airport authorities to facilitate compliance and smooth cargo movement.
Oversee import, export, and transit cargo documentation and procedures, maintaining accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Ensure prompt and efficient transfer of cargo between connecting flights to minimize delays and disruptions.
Supervise and lead a team of 10 warehouse and cargo-handling personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
Implement and enforce compliance with airport security, customs, and aviation cargo regulations to maintain operational integrity.
Monitor cargo movements closely, identifying and resolving any operational issues proactively to sustain optimal performance.
Develop and refine standard operating procedures for transit cargo handling to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Prepare comprehensive operational reports to track key performance indicators and support continuous improvement initiatives.
