Recruit AI is seeking a skilled and meticulous Accountant with at least three years of professional experience to oversee and manage the financial operations related to Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), Value Added Tax (VAT), and charity accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UK accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements required to support growth across the construction and charity sectors. This full-time role based in Rawalpindi involves detailed bookkeeping, financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with HMRC and Charity Commission regulations. The candidate will not manage a team but will work independently to maintain financial accuracy and ensure regulatory adherence. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing CIS processes, VAT submission, and overseeing charity accounting in line with the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP). This role demands proficiency in accounting software like Xero or QuickBooks, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple clients and deadlines efficiently. A reliable and proactive approach is essential to support the companys financial objectives while ensuring all processes adhere to UK tax and charity accounting standards.
Responsibilities

  • Maintain precise bookkeeping records including sales, purchases, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in strict compliance with HMRC regulations ensuring timely and accurate filings.
  • Administer and manage all aspects of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) processes.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements.
  • Handle all correspondence with HMRC and resolve any queries or issues promptly to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain and reconcile Director Loan Accounts (DLA) accurately to support financial transparency.
  • Support tax compliance activities, including Corporation Tax and Self-Assessment submissions.
  • Maintain detailed financial records for charity organizations in accordance with UK regulations.
  • Prepare charity accounts following guidelines set by the Charity Commission and the Charity SORP.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with SORP requirements and assist in preparing financial reports for trustees and regulatory bodies.
  • Use accounting software such as QuickBooks and Xero effectively to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and charity compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients and regulatory bodies ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in accounting operations.
