Red Hat Linux Administrator

We are looking for a skilled Red Hat Linux Administrator with extensive hands-on experience in RHEL server administration, OS patching, system hardening, environment configuration, and production support. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of Linux environments across development, testing, and production stages. This role demands a proactive approach to managing enterprise Linux systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across enterprise environments, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Perform OS installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and system hardening to maintain secure and stable systems.
- Monitor server health, performance, capacity, and availability, and troubleshoot system-level issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Manage users, groups, permissions, services, filesystems, processes, and system configurations to maintain system integrity and security.
- Support production environments by actively participating in incident, problem, and change management activities to ensure smooth operations.
- Implement security best practices, vulnerability remediation, and configuration standards to protect systems against threats.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using Shell scripting and/or Ansible to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, operational procedures, and system configuration records for reference and compliance.

Required Qualifications

- 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration, preferably within enterprise production environments.
- Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of Linux networking, filesystems, storage, DNS, SSH, systemd, processes, and permissions.
- Experience with OS patching, server hardening, vulnerability remediation, and configuration management.
- Proficiency in Shell scripting and/or Ansible for automation purposes.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, backup, and enterprise infrastructure tools.
- Experience working in 24x7 production support environments and following ITIL-based operational processes.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and incident management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- RHCSA or RHCE certification, or equivalent experience, is considered an advantage.
