Regional Executive Credit (AVP / VP) - TJ / 1885258

National Bank of Pakistan, one of the country’s largest and most reputable financial institutions, is seeking a Regional Executive Credit (AVP / VP) for its Gwadar and Sibi branches. This role is integral to the Credit Risk Management Division and aligns with the Bank’s vision to become a future-ready, agile, and sustainable organization. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated professional with a strong background in banking, particularly in commercial and SME credit risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Exercise delegated credit approval authority to review and approve SME, Commercial, and Agricultural credit proposals for both conventional and Islamic banking within the Gwadar region. This includes thorough credit risk analysis, assessment of obligors’ creditworthiness, and ensuring compliance with the Bank’s policies and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) prudential regulations.
- Manage and lead a team of two credit officers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective credit operations.
- Assist the Credit Hub Head and GM Credit Risk with credit reviews, assessments, and ongoing monitoring of the credit portfolio.
- Liaise with various stakeholders at the regional level, including business units, Credit Administration Department (CAD), and audit teams, to facilitate smooth operational workflows.
- Address internal and external audit requirements and observations related to the credit function, implementing corrective measures and coordinating with Head Office as necessary.
- Ensure all credit processing activities are completed within specified turnaround times.
- Monitor the credit portfolio for early warning signs, maintain portfolio management information systems (MIS), and ensure timely submission of staff data and reports.
- Train and develop team members, maintaining high standards and preparing for succession planning.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a university or institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- At least six years of banking experience, with a minimum of four years specifically in commercial and/or SME credit, either from a business or risk management perspective within a commercial bank.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Proficiency in credit risk assessment for SME and commercial lending.
- Familiarity with SBP prudential regulations and understanding of various types of collateral.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to apply sector-specific and macroeconomic knowledge to credit judgments.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- A master’s degree and/or relevant professional certifications will be considered an advantage.
- Exposure to agricultural lending is desirable.
- Employment will be on a contractual basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal at management’s discretion.
