Research Officer / Research Fellow — Trade & Agri-Economics

Regional Insights Forum (RIF) is seeking a dedicated Research Officer or Research Fellow to lead a flagship research initiative focused on Pakistan's mango export and import trade. This role involves conducting comprehensive research covering trade volumes, key markets, supply chain logistics, pricing trends, regulatory barriers, and growth opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of five members, coordinating research efforts, and contributing to high-impact policy briefs, seminars, and multimedia content that influence regional economic discussions across South and Central Asia. This position requires a candidate with strong expertise in economic analysis and agricultural market research, supported by excellent project management skills and experience in data collection and survey design. The role demands effective communication with external stakeholders including growers, exporters, and government bodies, as well as the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights. The selected individual will play a pivotal role in advancing RIF's mission of promoting evidence-based policy research and regional connectivity.
Responsibilities

Lead in-depth research on Pakistan's mango export and import trade, analyzing trade data, key trading partners, tariffs, supply chains, cold-storage logistics, and regional performance comparisons.
Produce high-quality research notes, policy briefs, articles, and reports based on comprehensive data analysis and field information.
Coordinate and maintain active communication with growers, exporters, government departments, and trade organizations to gather data, conduct interviews, and validate findings.
Manage and oversee a research team of five, enabling efficient collaboration, task distribution, and quality control on research projects.
Support the development and production of podcast episodes and other multimedia content related to trade and agricultural economics research findings.
Present research outcomes and insights at RIF-hosted seminars, expert dialogues, and external conferences to inform policy discussions and stakeholder engagement.
Maintain meticulous records of data sources, research materials, citations, and documentation to ensure the integrity and reproducibility of research output.
Stay updated on economic trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics affecting agricultural trade in the South and Central Asian regions.
Assist in project management tasks including timeline tracking, resource allocation, and reporting progress to senior researchers and stakeholders.
Engage proactively in cross-functional collaboration within RIF to align research themes with broader organizational objectives and policy priorities.
