This role involves providing comprehensive patient care across various hospital settings including outpatient departments, inpatient wards, emergency rooms, intensive care units, and specialty units. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients by utilizing clinical history, examination findings, laboratory results, and imaging data. Working under the supervision of Consultants, the individual will develop and implement treatment plans, perform clinical procedures within their scope of practice, and participate actively in ward rounds and case discussions. Timely and accurate documentation, responding to medical emergencies, and providing on-call coverage are essential components of the position. Coordination with nursing and allied health teams to ensure continuity of care, counseling patients and families, and monitoring patient progress to adjust treatments are also key duties.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in OPD, IPD, ER, ICU, or specialty units as assigned.
- Formulate diagnoses based on patient history, clinical examination, laboratory tests, and imaging studies.
- Develop and implement treatment plans under Consultant supervision.
- Perform clinical procedures within the limits of training, specialty, and credentialing granted by the institution.
- Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and ensure accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and code blue situations; escalate complex cases to Consultants as necessary.
- Provide on-call coverage according to the duty roster.
- Stabilize patients and coordinate referrals when required.
- Collaborate with nursing and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated and continuous patient care.
- Counsel patients and their families, obtaining informed consent for treatments.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinical conditions evolve.
- Allocate appropriate time and resources to all patient care processes and procedures.
- Provide clinical guidance and ensure adherence to hospital clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings to support quality improvement.
- Follow infection prevention protocols and patient safety standards rigorously.
- Engage with multidisciplinary teams to enhance quality of care and patient experience.
- Ensure compliance with standards set by the hospital, provincial, and national regulatory authorities.
- Maintain effective verbal and written communication with staff, patients, and attendants.
- Uphold patient confidentiality, privacy, and respect for dignity, including cultural, religious, and social sensitivities.
- Participate actively in continuing medical education (CME), research initiatives, and case presentations to support professional development.
- Maintain essential certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) through ongoing training.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department consistent with knowledge and skills.

Required Qualifications

- Medical degree with relevant postgraduate training or specialization.
- Valid credentialing and licensing to practice within the hospital and according to regulatory authorities.
- Demonstrated clinical competence in patient assessment, diagnosis, and management.
- Ability to perform clinical procedures within the scope of training.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and ethical medical practice.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties and emergency response.
