Turing, headquartered in San Francisco, California, is a global leader in accelerating frontier AI research and a trusted partner for enterprises deploying advanced AI systems. The company supports its clients by providing high-quality data, sophisticated training pipelines, and expert AI researchers specializing in coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and agents. Turing also helps businesses transition AI from experimental stages to reliable, proprietary intelligence that delivers measurable impact and lasting results on their bottom line.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design original and challenging mathematics problems that push the reasoning capabilities of large language models, focusing on multi-step, abstract, and proof-based scenarios.
- Independently solve complex problems and produce detailed, logically structured solutions with clear justifications.
- Review AI-generated solutions to identify mathematical errors or gaps, providing precise feedback, annotations, and corrections.
- Contribute to the development of new evaluation benchmarks aligned with mathematics curricula ranging from early undergraduate to PhD-level topics.
- Develop and validate Python-based solutions for computational tasks using approved scientific libraries.
- Work on theorem-prover tasks using Lean by translating mathematical problems and proofs into formal language and verifying that formal proofs compile correctly.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong foundation in mathematics, comparable to the level expected in engineering entrance exams and graduate or PhD-level programs.
- Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to break down complex mathematical concepts into simple, clear explanations.
- Proficiency in writing reliable Python code and designing precise, closed-ended prompts for computational projects.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations on model outputs.
- Creative and lateral thinking skills to approach problems innovatively.
- Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills suited for a remote work environment.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with a reliable desktop or laptop and a stable internet connection.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
Candidates pursuing or holding a Master’s, PhD, or Postdoctoral degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields are highly encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate can analyze and solve complex mathematical problems using a structured and logical approach and explain mathematical concepts clearly through simple language, visuals, and examples.
Working with Turing offers the flexibility of a fully remote environment and the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading large language model companies. There is potential for contract extension based on performance and project requirements.
