Turing, headquartered in San Francisco, California, is a global leader in accelerating frontier AI research and a trusted partner for enterprises deploying advanced AI systems. The company supports its clients by providing high-quality data, advanced training pipelines, and access to top AI researchers specializing in coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and agents. Additionally, Turing helps enterprises transition AI from proof of concept to reliable, proprietary intelligence that delivers measurable business impact and drives sustainable results.

In this role, you will contribute to projects focused on fine-tuning large language models such as ChatGPT. Your strong analytical skills and proficiency in English comprehension will be essential as you design and solve complex Physics problems. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Physics, comparable to the level expected in engineering entrance exams and graduate or PhD programs. You will be responsible for breaking down intricate Physics concepts into clear, concise explanations while working efficiently. This position also offers the opportunity to enhance your analytical capabilities by leveraging AI, helping you future-proof your career in an AI-driven world.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and solve challenging Physics problems to test the limitations of large language models.
- Develop clear, high-quality, step-by-step solutions with well-articulated reasoning.
- Collaborate closely with LLM researchers to ensure problem alignment with evaluation goals, particularly in areas where models face difficulties such as abstraction, multi-step reasoning, and symbolic manipulation.
- Assist in defining new evaluation benchmarks based on Physics curricula ranging from early undergraduate to PhD-level topics.

Required Qualifications:
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to approach problems methodically.
- Capability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations.
- Creative and lateral thinking skills to develop innovative problem-solving approaches.
- Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills, especially in a remote work environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Access to a desktop or laptop with a reliable internet connection.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
Candidates currently pursuing a Ph.D. or postdoctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or related fields are highly encouraged to apply. The ability to analyze and solve complex Physics problems using a structured, logical approach is essential. Additionally, candidates should be adept at explaining Physics concepts clearly, employing simple language, visuals, and sound reasoning.

This is a fully remote freelance opportunity that allows you to work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading large language model companies. There is potential for contract extension based on your performance and the evolving needs of the project. Please note that this engagement is a contractor assignment and does not include medical benefits or paid leave.

This role offers a unique chance to contribute to pioneering AI research while honing your expertise in Physics and AI, all within a flexible, remote work setting.
