Turing, headquartered in San Francisco, California, is a global leader in accelerating frontier AI research and a trusted partner for enterprises deploying advanced AI systems. The company supports its clients by providing high-quality data, sophisticated training pipelines, and expert AI researchers skilled in coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and agent technologies. Turing helps businesses transition AI from experimental stages to reliable, impactful proprietary intelligence that drives measurable results.

In this role, you will contribute to fine-tuning large language models such as ChatGPT by leveraging your strong analytical abilities and English comprehension skills. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Physics, comparable to the level expected in engineering entrance exams and advanced graduate or PhD programs. You will be responsible for breaking down complex Physics concepts into clear, accessible explanations while working efficiently. This position offers a unique opportunity to enhance your analytical skills using AI, helping you future-proof your career in an AI-driven world.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and solve challenging Physics problems to test the capabilities and limitations of large language models.
- Develop clear, high-quality, step-by-step solutions with well-articulated reasoning.
- Collaborate closely with LLM researchers to ensure problems align with evaluation goals, particularly in areas where models often struggle, such as abstraction, multi-step reasoning, and symbolic manipulation.
- Assist in defining new evaluation benchmarks based on Physics curricula ranging from early undergraduate to PhD-level topics.

Required Qualifications:
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations.
- Creative and lateral thinking capabilities to approach problems innovatively.
- Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills, especially in a remote work environment.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Access to a desktop or laptop with a reliable internet connection.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
Candidates currently pursuing a Ph.D. or postdoctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or related fields are highly encouraged to apply. The ability to analyze and solve complex Physics problems using a structured, logical approach is essential. Additionally, candidates should be able to explain Physics concepts clearly through simple language, visuals, and sound reasoning.

This freelance opportunity offers the flexibility of working fully remotely while engaging with cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading large language model companies. There is potential for contract extension based on performance and project requirements.
