About the role 

  • Reporting to the VP of Growth, the Content Marketing Specialist plays a key role as a facilitator of all communication between our client's brands and their connected audiences.  

  • The role offers a total immersion into a busy digital agency with exposure to the creative, copywriting, and production teams. 

  • Working with a range of local business clients across many different industries in North America and Australia, the Content Marketing Specialist will plan, execute and measure content across multiple channels to help clients deliver an integrated online customer experience. 


  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English 
  • BSc in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or relevant field 
  • 4+ years of experience as a content specialist or similar role (a journalist—we love journalists) or show us that you can do this regardless of how long you’ve been doing it.  
  • Portfolio of published articles 
  • Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress) 
  • An ability to write creative copy both for large pieces of content (e.g. blog posts) and smaller texts (e.g. social media posts) 
  • Strong understanding of content marketing and know how people discover content online 
  • Research – dive deeply into a subject and become an expert quickly 
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar for our clients 
  • Create quality content quickly and juggle many initiatives at once 
  • Creating engaging headlines and subheads, proofreading, and deep-line editing for spelling, grammar, and brand consistency 
  • Solid time-management skills 
  • Basic keyword search knowledge 
  • Share content through various channels, ensuring the strong web presence 
  • You have domain knowledge: SEO, Keyword Planner, and Google Analytics – plus content marketing technology and tools 
  • You don’t just follow the common wisdom, but can think critically to determine which tactics, ideas, and objectives are right for our clients 
  • Willingness to learn and be trained when projects require it 
  • Support the marketing team with email marketing, sales collateral, feature releases, and whatever else needs words 
  • And most importantly, a positive attitude; friendly, and fun to work with 

Optional skills 

  • Expertise in social media platforms 
  • Local SEO experience  
  • Link building by guest posting
