We are seeking a motivated Research Associate with a deep understanding of Pakistan’s telecom sector and emerging wireless technologies to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the country’s telecom landscape, regulatory environment, and technical domains such as 5G, IoT, and satellite communications. This role involves conducting thorough research, developing policy documents, analyzing data, and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to support informed decision-making and strategy development.

Key Responsibilities

- Telecom Landscape & Policy Knowledge: Maintain a strong grasp of Pakistan’s telecom ecosystem and regulatory framework. Stay current with key policy and regulatory documents issued by authorities such as PTA, FAB, MoITT, and USF, including the Telecom Policy, Spectrum Master Plan, and 5G Rollout Framework.

- Technical Domain Expertise: Demonstrate proven experience in wireless technologies, with a solid understanding of IoT, 5G/5G-Advanced, RF Spectrum Management, and Satellite Communication (LEO/GEO, NTN). Monitor global technology trends and evaluate their applicability to Pakistan’s telecom sector.

- Research & Policy Development: Conduct in-depth research on emerging technologies and international best practices. Draft high-quality policy briefs, position papers, white papers, and research reports that provide clear, actionable insights. Apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to support evidence-based policy recommendations.

- Data Analysis & Presentation: Utilize advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis, visualization, and reporting. Prepare professional presentations using PowerPoint and translate complex technical data into clear, accessible insights for non-technical audiences.

- Stakeholder Coordination & Communication: Engage effectively with regulators, government bodies, mobile network operators, vendors, academia, and industry associations. Organize and participate in stakeholder consultations, workshops, and working groups to foster collaboration and information exchange.

- Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication abilities to articulate complex ideas clearly and professionally.

Required Qualifications

- Strong understanding of Pakistan’s telecom sector, including its regulatory environment and key policy documents.
- Proven expertise in wireless technologies such as 5G, IoT, RF Spectrum Management, and Satellite Communications.
- Experience in conducting research and drafting policy-related documents.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex technical information and present it in an accessible manner.
