Under the overall guidance of the Senior Advisors and direct supervision of Director General FDI, the PEI/ EPI Synergy Support Specialist shall be part of the PEI/ EPI Synergy Team at the FDI. He/she is expected to perform following key duties for the EPI in continuous liaise with the NEOC synergy group:

  • Assist the DG FDI in tracking progress on PEI/ EPI Synergy framework
  • Participate in activities designed to promote polio, measles and other emerging vaccine preventable disease eradication, routine immunization, data quality and surveillance of new vaccines. 
  • Attend meetings and webinars with international and local partners in order to stay abreast of the most current developments in the outbreak and status of worldwide eradication and country plans for immunization activities. 
  • Incorporate and share lessons learned and best practices developed during work conducted on Donor immunization projects with country and field staff.
  • Ensure that the updated global and national guidelines are adequately applied and used at all levels for EPI Program implementation and provide support and critically review weekly/ monthly performance data and identify and mediate gaps, if any.
  • Attend Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization committee meetings, provide technical advertisement and plan for a way forward for impactful activities to achieve Rountine Immunization enhancement.
  • Make field visits to monitor progress during NIDs, attend ERMs at Tehsil and district levels and liaise with relevant health authorities.
  • Participate and facilitate training workshops aiming at capacity building of human resource at all levels.
  • Coordinate with Provincial EPI and PEI teams to support implementation of the PEI- EPI synergy action plan, recommendations, and other activities suggested by the EOC.
  • Analyze immunization data from all the sources, indentify gaps and suggest corrective measures at NEOC/ FDI.
  • Conduct in-depth statistical analysis and data traingulation to help the Program in monitoring its progress and impact of its interventions, including performance related to Data Analysis and sharing results and recommendations with the relevant teams & EPI- Coordinator regarding responses activities of EPI like MR campaign, VPD, AEFI surveillance and 1166 help line pertinent data.
  • Support the EPI team in ensuring the low- performing UCs are prioritized for EOAs and coverage plan for zero dose.
  • Prepare PEI situation reports and activity reports of districts and provincial levels and udpate these on a regular basis.
  • Undertake any other relevant duties as directed by the Senior Advisors and DG FDI.
  • Actively participate in the organizational biweekly call/ visual meeting.
