Ruby Engineer

As a fully remote, hourly-paid Ruby Engineer specializing in AI Data Training, you will play a critical role in reviewing AI-generated Ruby and Rails code or developing your own solutions. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating the quality of reasoning and step-by-step problem-solving, providing insightful feedback that helps AI models generate answers that are accurate, logical, and clearly articulated. You will assess code for readability, maintainability, and correctness, identify errors in MVC structure, domain modeling, or control flow, and fact-check information. Additionally, you will write high-quality explanations and model solutions that demonstrate idiomatic Ruby patterns, while rating and comparing multiple AI responses based on correctness and reasoning quality. Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI Training Content by creating detailed prompts and responses across various topics to guide AI learning, ensuring models reflect a broad and accurate understanding.
- Optimize AI Performance through evaluating and ranking AI-generated responses to improve accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance.
- Ensure Model Integrity by testing AI models for inaccuracies or biases and validating their reliability across different use cases.

Required Qualifications
- 1 to 2+ years of professional Ruby programming experience in production environments.
- Strong understanding of Ruby on Rails, MVC architecture, and idiomatic Ruby patterns for structuring application code.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining Ruby or Rails applications, with practical knowledge of real-world production constraints.
- Ability to critically evaluate readability, maintainability, and logical correctness in Ruby and Rails code, including model, controller, and service-layer design.
- Significant experience using large language models (LLMs) or AI coding assistants during programming, combined with a disciplined approach to validating and reviewing their output.
- Excellent English writing skills capable of producing clear, structured, and pedagogical technical explanations and code reviews.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field.
- Previous experience with AI data training, large-scale code review, or evaluation of AI-generated technical content is strongly preferred.
- Minimum C1 English proficiency and an extremely detail-oriented working style are required.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with frameworks and tools such as Ruby on Rails, Sinatra, and RSpec in real projects is highly preferred.
- Contributions to Ruby open-source projects, such as merged pull requests, experience with metaprogramming, test-heavy systems, or competitive programming exposure are advantageous.
