ASSISTANT Accountant

Saidliah Al Sheikh Traders is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support the Accounts Department with daily financial operations. The ideal candidate will handle various accounting duties including managing customer and vendor ledgers, performing reconciliations, processing cash and bank transactions, verifying invoices, and maintaining cheque records. This role also involves assisting with accounts receivable and payable functions and preparing basic financial reports to facilitate accurate financial management. This position is suitable for recent graduates or individuals with a foundational understanding of accounting principles who are eager to develop their skills within a professional environment. The Assistant Accountant plays an essential role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data but does not manage a team. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting software, and ERP systems is required to efficiently execute the responsibilities associated with this role.
Responsibilities

Assist with daily accounting entries including posting to general ledgers and subsidiary accounts.
Maintain accurate customer and vendor ledgers ensuring all transactions are recorded promptly and correctly.
Perform bank reconciliations and cash transactions verification to maintain financial accuracy.
Verify and process invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and payment schedules.
Maintain cheque records and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently.
Support preparation of basic financial reports to assist management in decision-making.
Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure alignment of financial data and timely resolution of discrepancies.
Utilize accounting software and ERP systems for maintaining accurate financial records and reporting.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements at all times.
Contribute to continuous improvement in accounting procedures and assist in audits when necessary.
