Sales Manager – Trade (Punjab)

We are looking for a proactive and target-driven Sales Manager – Trade to oversee pharmaceutical sales operations throughout Punjab. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting sales targets, managing relationships with distributors and wholesalers, expanding pharmacy and medical store coverage, ensuring product availability, and monitoring stock levels and expiry dates. This role requires strong leadership to guide the field sales team and build lasting partnerships with trade customers across the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets across Punjab’s pharmaceutical trade.
- Manage and nurture relationships with distributors, wholesalers, pharmacies, medical stores, and key trade customers.
- Monitor sales performance by territory, product, and distributor to identify growth opportunities and address challenges.
- Expand the company’s distribution network and market coverage within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Conduct regular market visits to assess sales progress, product availability, competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
- Ensure timely availability and distribution of pharmaceutical products in assigned markets.
- Oversee distributor stock levels, order processing, inventory movement, and product availability.
- Monitor near-expiry and expired stock, coordinating stock rotation and returns as needed.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the field sales team to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Set clear targets for team members and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Implement approved trade promotions, schemes, and sales initiatives effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmacies, medical stores, wholesalers, distributors, hospitals, and institutional clients.
- Identify new trade opportunities and develop additional customers and distribution points.
- Keep track of competitor products, pricing strategies, promotional activities, and market presence.
- Prepare detailed sales reports, forecasts, market visit summaries, and performance analyses for senior management.
- Coordinate with supply chain, warehouse, finance, and other departments to ensure smooth order processing and product availability.
- Monitor distributor and customer outstanding payments and assist in timely collections.
- Address and resolve distributor and customer complaints promptly.
- Ensure all sales and distribution activities comply with company policies and pharmaceutical regulations.
- Maintain accurate sales and market records and submit reports on time.
- Travel extensively across Punjab for market visits, distributor meetings, team supervision, and business development.
- Perform other sales and trade-related duties as assigned by senior management.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Pharmacy, or a related field.
- 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical sales and trade, preferably in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Proven experience managing pharmaceutical distributors, wholesalers, pharmacies, and medical stores.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical trade channels and distribution networks in Punjab.
- Experience leading and supervising field sales teams.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and expanding market coverage.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
- Good understanding of pharmaceutical products, trade practices, stock management, and market dynamics.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze sales performance, market trends, competitor activities, and territory potential.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Punjab.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
