Zones, a global leader in end-to-end IT solutions and a Minority Business Enterprise with over 35 years of experience, is seeking a Scrum Master to join their team. Operating across more than 120 countries, Zones specializes in Digital Workplace, Cloud & Data Center, Networking, Security, and Managed/Professional/Staffing services. The Scrum Master will play a critical role in facilitating cross-functional teams to deliver projects predictably and transparently. This position involves managing impediments and delivery risks within a Scrum framework, utilizing Azure DevOps Boards. The role requires close collaboration with engineering, product teams, and leadership to ensure smooth project delivery and clear communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, maintaining a consistent two-week sprint cadence. Drive delivery predictability by enforcing sprint scope discipline, monitoring team velocity, and minimizing spillover. Manage transparency through Azure DevOps Boards by maintaining workflows, backlogs, queries, dashboards, and sprint/epic reporting. Maintain and update logs for risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies, proactively removing impediments and escalating when necessary. Coordinate release planning and scheduling, align dependencies with partner teams, and manage the impact of any changes. Provide regular and clear communication to stakeholders regarding project status and risks. Promote process excellence by refining the definition of done, working agreements, estimation techniques, and driving continuous improvement actions identified during retrospectives.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of three years’ experience as a Scrum Master leading cross-functional software teams is essential. Candidates must have a strong understanding of Scrum principles and practical experience in delivery management. Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, identify risks early, and deliver actionable status updates is required. Excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and coaching skills are necessary, along with the ability to remain calm under pressure and take decisive action. Proficiency in configuring and managing Azure DevOps Boards for sprint planning, visibility, and reporting is mandatory. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are also required.
