Search Engine Optimization Specialist

Sequel Technologies, a healthcare IT and medical billing software company serving the US market, is seeking an experienced SEO Specialist to enhance its online presence across traditional search engines like Google and emerging AI-driven platforms such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews. This role requires a proactive individual who takes initiative to identify and resolve SEO issues independently, ensuring continuous improvement without waiting for direction. The ideal candidate will be deeply involved in optimizing the company’s web properties and driving innovative SEO strategies that align with evolving search technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage on-page and technical SEO across all web assets, including conducting audits, implementing fixes, and ongoing optimization.
- Develop and execute a robust GEO/AEO strategy to improve visibility within AI search tools as well as traditional search engines.
- Perform keyword research, competitor analysis, and content gap assessments to inform and shape the content roadmap.
- Collaborate closely with content creators, developers, and designers to implement SEO-related initiatives effectively.
- Monitor performance metrics using GA4 and Google Search Console, translating data insights into actionable next steps.
- Lead SEO experiments from hypothesis formulation through to analysis and reporting, maintaining transparency about outcomes.
- Stay updated on search algorithm changes, SERP feature updates, and shifts in AI content sourcing and citation methods.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, IT, business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on SEO experience, supported by a portfolio or case studies demonstrating measurable results such as improved rankings, traffic, or conversions.
- Strong expertise in on-page and technical SEO, including site architecture, Core Web Vitals, schema markup, crawlability, indexation, and internal linking strategies.
- Experience or a well-informed perspective on GEO/AEO concepts and implementation.
- Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools such as GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Google Tag Manager.
- Comfortable using AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity as part of daily SEO workflows.
- Naturally curious mindset with a problem-solving approach to SEO challenges.
- Self-motivated and capable of independently scoping, prioritizing, and driving projects forward.
- Ability to communicate SEO concepts clearly to non-specialist stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience working with the US market is an advantage.
- Background in B2B environments, especially within SaaS or technology sectors, is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to facilitate effective communication with development teams.
- Some experience in content strategy is a plus.

Working Hours
- Summer: 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM
- Winter: 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM
