SecOps Engineer (L3) – Security Operations - CheckPoint

Our client, a large-scale organization with distributed teams across Pakistan, India, the US, Canada, and the UAE, is seeking experienced Senior Security Engineers (L3) to join their 24x7 Security Operations environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with enterprise security technologies, particularly Check Point firewalls, and demonstrate strong capabilities in network security, endpoint protection, VPNs, and security operations processes. This role demands a proactive professional who can effectively manage complex security infrastructures and respond swiftly to incidents in a high-stakes environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and troubleshoot Check Point firewalls (mandatory), along with Palo Alto and Fortinet devices.
- Implement, review, and maintain firewall policies, access control lists (ACLs), NAT configurations, and security rules.
- Administer Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and proxy security solutions.
- Support endpoint security platforms including Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and antivirus solutions.
- Investigate security incidents thoroughly and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor and analyze security logs, alerts, and operational events to identify potential threats.
- Assist in audit processes, compliance adherence, and security governance activities.
- Execute security hardening measures and coordinate vulnerability remediation efforts.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and operational reports.
- Participate actively in Disaster Recovery (DR) activities and readiness exercises to ensure business continuity.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in IT Security Operations supporting enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise in managing Check Point firewalls (mandatory), with additional experience in Palo Alto or Fortinet platforms preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and incident response capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with WAF, IPS, VPN, MFA, and proxy security technologies.
- Familiarity with endpoint security solutions such as EDR, DLP, and antivirus software.
- Skilled in security incident investigation and firewall rule review.
- Knowledge of vulnerability management and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes including incident, change, and problem management.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Relevant certifications such as Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or Certified Security Expert (CCSE).
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
- Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) certifications.
- CompTIA Security+ or other recognized cybersecurity certifications.
