Technical Expert

SIF- France looking for competent applicants for the position of "Technical Experts (Food Security and Livelihood, Livestock, Climate Smart Agriculture-CSA, CBDRM & Gender)"

ROLE IN THE ORGANIZATION

This role will be based in districts Tharparkar & District Sanghar with overall responsibility to implement the project activities under the “FFA – WFP Funded Project” project in two union councils of Tharparkar & Sanghar. The main task will include smooth planning, implementation, management, coordination and development of manuals, mentor the technical trainers and facilitation of the project for drought-affected communities in Tharparkar & Sanghar, within the available budget, planned resources, and timelines.

MISSIONS AND ACTIVITIES

Planning and Implementation:

•         Develop activity implementation plan to adhere the proposed activities under the project
•         Develop procurement plan for the project (in coordination with Base Log) and follow the Procurement time lines and thresholds.
•         Closely work with technical trainers & provide them support as per need;
•         Support country project manager in the smooth planning, and keep loop in any untoward situation in the field office and team.
•         Ensure the timely implementation of all project activities adhering to SIF’s policies;
•         Conduct field visits to all project locations depending on the requirement and ensure the quality implementation of activities;

 Coordination:

•         Participate and present in periodical review meetings with MEAL Department and assess and discuss the progress of the project activities in the context of its targets;
•         Maintain Close Coordination with logistic department for the ongoing support during the activity implementation;
•         Work closely with HR department in recruitment, training and managing of Program staff;
•         Coordinate with technical train & train them on the relevant topics
•         Provide regular feedback to increase the effectiveness to achieve the desired objectives
•         Performing other duties as may be assigned by Project Manager;

 Reporting

•         Ensure daily progress sheet is prepared and shared with the line manager
•         Prepare field visit reports after commencing the visit in the field
•         Monitor all the technical trainers in the field during the implementation of activities
•         Ensure that technical trainers are following the signed TOR’s
•         Prepare and submit weekly progress report well on time
•         Prepare activity completion reports for budgeted activities against defined standards/formats
•         Ensure that project documents are updated and Archived regularly
•         Prepare case studies/success stories

Representation:

•        Participate and represent SIF in meetings organized by the humanitarian organization/Government departments in coordination with Base Manager
•         Participate in meetings organized by FSL, CBDRM, CSA and WASH groups in the district
•         Represent and Adhere the SIF policies and procedures in organization work in the field and office

 Monitoring and Supervision:

•       Conduct field visit to monitor the progress of project activities
•        Monitor the progress of each staff and mentor during the job
•         Ensure good working environment for the effective implementation of project activities
•         Conduct and facilitate trainings for the staff
•         Prepare objectives of the programme staff for the defined period
•         Evaluate the performance of staff members

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/BEHAVIOR

•         Master’s degree in relevant discipline
•         At least have 5 Years of experience working with NGO/ INGO’s on related positions in Sindh province (Experience in Tharparkar & Sanghar will be preferred)
•         Experience in developing and implementing project on Food Security, Livelihood, Climate Change and WASH programming with resilient building/sustainable approaches
•         Clear understanding of context in district Tharparkar & Sanghar
•         Good report writing skills
•         Good interpersonal, coordination and presentation skills.
•         Fluency in English, Sindhi, Urdu & Local Language.
•         Cultural sensitivity and respect the diversity
•         Self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision.
•         Able to deal with people at all levels with tact and diplomacy.
•         Good Team player and motivated to work in a remote and uncertain environment respecting standard operating procedures as devised and instructed.
