We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Lahore office and oversee the daily accounting and compliance activities for our UAE-based operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with international accounting standards, UAE VAT, and Corporate Tax while working locally and coordinating closely with the UAE team. The position involves managing financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting month-end and year-end processes without the need to relocate.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and complete books of accounts for UAE entities in compliance with IFRS.
- Record and process daily transactions, including sales, purchases, expenses, and journal entries.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including supplier payments, customer invoicing, and follow-ups on outstanding balances.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, suppliers, and customers.
- Assist in filing UAE VAT returns through the FTA portal and maintain all supporting documentation.
- Support UAE Corporate Tax compliance, including calculations and filings.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, such as accruals, prepayments, and depreciation schedules.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Process payroll and maintain employee-related records in coordination with the HR department.
- Liaise with external auditors by providing necessary schedules and documentation.
- Coordinate daily with the UAE office regarding financial queries, approvals, and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
- CA (CAF completed) or ACCA — qualified, part-qualified, or finalist.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Zoho Books or ERP systems.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliations.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills to effectively interact with the UAE team.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to meet reporting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple entities or clients simultaneously.
