Senior Accountant & Odoo Expert

We are seeking an experienced Accountant and Odoo Expert to oversee daily accounting operations and take full ownership of our Odoo ERP system. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting expertise, hands-on experience with Odoo, and the ability to maintain accurate financial reporting, streamline ERP processes, and enforce robust financial controls. This role involves close collaboration with management and various departments to ensure precise accounts, enhance financial workflows, and maximize the use of Odoo across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance:
- Manage daily accounting transactions including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and bank activities.
- Prepare and maintain financial records in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, suppliers, customers, and general ledger.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Handle invoicing, payments, receipts, credit notes, and journal entries.
- Monitor receivables and payables, following up on outstanding balances.
- Support budgeting, cash flow management, and financial forecasting.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for audits.
- Maintain proper accounting controls and documentation.
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies promptly.
- Provide financial analysis and reports to assist management decision-making.

Odoo ERP Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the company’s Odoo ERP accounting and business modules.
- Configure Odoo accounting settings, workflows, taxes, journals, payment methods, and reports.
- Maintain the Chart of Accounts and accounting configurations within Odoo.
- Ensure seamless integration between accounting and other Odoo modules such as Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Expenses, and Payroll.
- Troubleshoot accounting and system-related issues within Odoo.
- Monitor data accuracy and system integrity.
- Develop and maintain customized reports, dashboards, and financial analyses in Odoo.
- Collaborate with Odoo consultants or developers for customization and technical support.
- Train users on Odoo accounting processes and best practices.
- Review and recommend workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and automation.
- Assist with Odoo upgrades, implementations, migrations, and new module rollouts as needed.

VAT & Compliance:
- Ensure accurate VAT accounting and transaction recording.
- Prepare VAT reports and support VAT return filing in accordance with UAE regulations.
- Maintain proper tax documentation and records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and external advisors when required.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years accounting experience, preferably within the UAE.
- Strong hands-on experience with Odoo ERP, especially Odoo Accounting.
- Excellent understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Solid knowledge of VAT and UAE accounting requirements.
- Experience with Odoo modules such as Accounting, Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Expenses, and Payroll is highly desirable.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Odoo configuration, workflows, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Odoo certification or formal training.
- Experience in Odoo implementation or migration projects.
- Familiarity with Odoo customizations and working with developers.
- Knowledge of UAE VAT and corporate tax requirements.
- Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA, or equivalent are advantageous.
- Experience in multi-company or multi-currency Odoo environments.
