Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant role at MG Rawalpindi is a full-time, on-site position responsible for managing daily accounting operations. This includes maintaining the general ledger, handling accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, and coordinating payroll activities. The role requires preparing monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and local regulations, and overseeing accurate financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will also provide valuable financial insights to support management decision-making and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Coordinate payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate salary disbursements.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations.
- Monitor budgets, analyze financial variances, and assist management with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Support internal control implementation and maintenance to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audit processes and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide accurate financial data and analysis to cross-functional teams to aid in strategic planning and performance evaluation.

Required Qualifications

- Strong expertise in financial accounting and reporting, including general ledger management and preparation of financial statements.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support management planning and review.
- Experience managing accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring.
- Ability to implement and maintain internal controls, ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and assist with audit activities.
- Advanced skills in accounting software, such as ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Several years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within automotive, retail, or showroom environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Willingness and ability to work full-time on-site in Rawalpindi, managing multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
