We are looking for a Senior Accounts Manager with 3 to 5 years of experience, preferably within the shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, tax compliance, and handling complex agent and freight remittances. This role demands a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a solid background in corporate finance, particularly in shipping and freight accounting. The position requires hands-on involvement in financial statements, audits, reconciliations, and managing both domestic and international remittances.

Key Responsibilities

- Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and manage accurate month-end and year-end financial statements to support business decisions.
- Audit & Compliance: Conduct internal audits to verify financial accuracy, identify discrepancies, and maintain robust internal controls.
- Ledger Management: Oversee the complete accounts payable and receivable cycles, ensuring timely collections from clients and payments to vendors.
- Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to maintain accurate cash flow records, ensuring smooth monthly and quarterly closing processes.
- Taxation: Calculate, file, and ensure compliance with sales tax and withholding tax regulations, keeping the company aligned with legal requirements.
- Industry-Specific Accounting: Manage specialized shipping and freight accounting tasks, including tracking shipment margins and operational costs to optimize financial performance.
- Remittances: Execute and monitor agent remittances with precision to maintain financial integrity.
- Import Freight: Handle international remittances related to import freight, ensuring adherence to foreign exchange regulations and banking protocols.

Required Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), Business Administration (BBA), or equivalent professional qualifications such as ACCA or CA Inter.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with a preference for candidates who have worked in the shipping or freight sectors.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or ERP systems is essential. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are also required to manage complex financial data effectively.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and the capacity to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment are critical for success in this role.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Candidates with prior experience specifically in shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding will have an advantage. This role offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs75,000 to Rs125,000.
