Senior AI Application Engineer (Python, Node.js)

We are seeking a Senior AI Application Engineer with over 5 years of hands-on experience in API development using Python and Node.js. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Generative AI, cloud computing, DevOps, and systems administration. This role involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable RESTful and SOAP APIs. Additionally, the engineer will contribute to the development and deployment of Generative AI applications, with a preference for experience in Azure OpenAI. The position is full-time, onsite in Lahore, and requires working in either the UK time zone or PST.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy RESTful and SOAP APIs using Python and Node.js.
- Develop and deploy technologies and applications related to Generative AI (GenAI).
- Apply strong AI knowledge, preferably with Azure OpenAI experience.
- Implement unit test cases for APIs, components, and common libraries to ensure code quality.
- Maintain secure, vulnerability-free API solutions and manage codebases using Git and Nexus.
- Deploy APIs on AWS EKS clusters and work extensively with AWS (including Outposts) and Microsoft Azure Cloud platforms.
- Contribute to DevOps practices, cloud computing, and cloud migration initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality products.
- Document API specifications and standards using tools such as Swagger and Postman.
- Continuously monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize API performance and availability using observability tools like AppDynamics and ELK.
- Research emerging technologies and trends related to API development and AI.
- Drive continuous improvement in DevOps practices, engineering standards, and processes.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of practical experience in API development.
- Proficient programming skills in Python and Node.js.
- Strong understanding of RESTful and SOAP API design and implementation.
- Solid knowledge of AI and Generative AI technologies; experience with Azure OpenAI is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cloud environments.
- Proven ability to deploy applications and APIs on AWS EKS.
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience using Git and Nexus or similar repository and artifact management tools.
- Skilled in API testing and unit testing frameworks.
- Proficient in API documentation tools such as Swagger and Postman.
- Knowledgeable in API security principles and secure coding practices.
- Experience with application monitoring and observability tools like AppDynamics and ELK.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization capabilities.
- Excellent collaboration skills with both technical and business teams.
- Ability to mentor junior team members and promote best practices.
