The Data Science team is central to this vision, leveraging AI to enhance user experiences, improve decision-making, and boost operational efficiency at scale. As a Senior AI Engineer, you will lead top data science talent in the region, applying advanced machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and optimization techniques on Careem’s proprietary AI platform to address real-time challenges and drive impactful solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a long-term strategic vision focused on enhancing customer acquisition and engagement through data-driven insights.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to understand user behavior and ecosystem dynamics, identifying new growth opportunities.
- Build and refine predictive models of user behavior to support product improvements and feature development.
- Influence and shape machine learning models and instrumentation to optimize product experiences and uncover new business avenues.
- Provide product leadership by delivering data-backed insights on business performance, analyzing root causes of metric changes, and evaluating experimental outcomes to guide strategic decisions.
- Implement scalable machine learning algorithms suitable for deployment on large-scale data systems.
- Lead exploratory projects to deepen understanding of complex phenomena and identify untapped growth and optimization areas.
- Address complex analytical questions using big data to inform product and service development.
- Define, track, and monitor key performance metrics for projects and initiatives.
- Design, execute, and analyze randomized controlled experiments, effectively communicating findings across cross-functional teams.
- Continuously challenge existing processes and explore emerging data processing technologies to uphold industry best practices.

Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Extensive experience in data mining, predictive modeling, time series analysis, machine learning, and Big Data methodologies, including data transformation and cleaning of both structured and unstructured data.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proficient coding abilities.
- Deep understanding of marketplace challenges specific to ride-hailing and delivery services.
- Solid expertise in A/B testing, classical machine learning, deep learning, recommendation systems, learning to rank, uplift modeling, and matching algorithms.
- Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and Hive.
- Demonstrated experience with database technologies such as Hadoop, BigQuery, Amazon EMR, Hive, Oracle, SAP, DB2, Teradata, MS SQL Server, and MySQL.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, ChartIO, or Qlik is advantageous.
- Skills in geospatial data processing are a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies is preferred.
