Senior AI Engineer

NorthBay is seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Engineer to join our team in Karachi on a full-time hybrid basis. The ideal candidate will bring over eight years of professional experience in data science, specializing in data processing, visualization, and structuring. This role demands expertise in advanced analytics to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets and the ability to design and implement sophisticated predictive models that enhance forecasting capabilities. Strong analytical thinking and excellent communication skills are essential, as the engineer will collaborate closely with diverse stakeholders to align AI solutions with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and optimization of large language model (LLM)-driven systems and agentic AI workflows.
- Develop and maintain robust data pipelines for extracting, structuring, and processing large volumes of data to support AI initiatives.
- Integrate LLMs such as OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, and Llama into data workflows to improve automation, insight generation, and business intelligence.
- Collaborate with both technical teams and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for adopting LLM and agentic AI technologies within operational processes.
- Build Python-based tools and scripts focused on data processing, visualization, and automating decision-making workflows.
- Conduct research and benchmarking of cutting-edge open-source and proprietary AI models to ensure alignment with project and product goals.
- Implement data monitoring systems and automated pipelines to guarantee the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of deployed AI models and data infrastructure.
- Contribute actively to generative AI (GenAI) projects, driving innovation through experimentation with new AI frameworks and agentic architectures.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in data science, data engineering, or AI-related roles.
- Hands-on experience working with large language models such as GPT-4/5, Claude, Gemini, Llama, or similar technologies.
- Strong expertise in agentic AI systems and their practical application within business or technical workflows.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python, including data manipulation, API integrations, prompt engineering, and workflow automation.
- Deep understanding of data structuring, processing, and visualization techniques.
- Proven track record of designing, building, and deploying data-centric and AI-assisted solutions.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex technical projects on time.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for business stakeholders.
