Contour Software, a rapidly growing subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc., is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join the Dealer Information Systems Corporation (DIS) division. DIS is a leading provider of business management software for agricultural, construction, truck refrigeration, and lift truck dealers across North America. This role is based at Contour’s Lahore or Islamabad office and involves working closely with the division’s R&D team to design and develop cutting-edge AI platforms. The successful candidate will lead the creation of generative AI systems, production-ready retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions, semantic search and embeddings pipelines, and advanced large language model (LLM) orchestration layers to support complex workflows and AI-driven agentic systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-level generative AI architecture from the ground up, including RAG systems, semantic search pipelines, embeddings workflows, and vector data infrastructure.
- Architect LLM orchestration layers to enable multi-step reasoning, tool integration, and AI-driven workflows, defining scalable patterns for agentic systems and domain-specific assistants.
- Integrate various LLM providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-weight models into secure, observable, and enterprise-grade systems.
- Develop AI service layers, orchestration APIs, caching mechanisms, evaluation pipelines, and monitoring frameworks focused on latency, cost optimization, safety, and reliability at scale.
- Establish quality benchmarks and evaluation strategies to ensure high-quality AI outputs.
- Implement responsible AI practices including guardrails, policy enforcement, hallucination mitigation, and governance standards for data provenance, auditability, and transparency.
- Collaborate with product leaders to translate business challenges into AI-native solutions and prioritize impactful AI features.
- Mentor engineering teams to elevate organizational AI maturity and transition projects from proof-of-concept to scalable production deployments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing applied AI/ML systems, with a strong focus on generative AI technologies.
- Proven track record in delivering LLM-powered applications involving RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, and model adaptation.
- Deep expertise in vector search, semantic retrieval, and AI system evaluation methodologies.
- Experience building orchestration layers using frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or LlamaIndex, or designing custom architectures.
- Strong cloud-native engineering skills with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and experience developing scalable backend systems and APIs.
- Familiarity with observability, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring for AI systems in production environments.
- Ability to balance innovation with enterprise requirements including security, compliance, and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
This role offers the unique opportunity to define a new AI stack rather than inheriting legacy systems, shaping AI standards, architecture, and governance across the division. The work will directly impact customer-facing products and operational intelligence, combining strategic AI leadership with hands-on engineering.
