Senior AI & Full-Stack Engineer - DevOps & Technical Leadership

We are a dynamic startup focused on developing innovative software products, web applications, AI-powered tools, integrations, and business automations. Operating with a hybrid delivery model that combines internal ownership and outsourced development, we seek a Senior AI & Full-Stack Engineer to join our team remotely on a full-time, long-term basis. This role offers the chance to take meaningful responsibility early on, contributing across frontend and backend development, AI integration, Linux infrastructure management, databases, and deployment processes. You will work closely with both internal teams and external specialists to deliver reliable, maintainable software while helping shape the company’s technical foundation and growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain full-stack web applications, including frontend and backend components.
- Build AI-powered features, integrations, internal tools, and business automations using AI coding assistants and agents with thorough testing and human review.
- Translate business requirements into clear implementation tasks and verifiable acceptance criteria.
- Design APIs, business logic, authentication, authorization, and third-party integrations.
- Manage database schemas, migrations, query optimization, backups, and recovery procedures.
- Administer Linux servers, handling application services, permissions, updates, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Build and maintain Docker environments, including container networking, persistent storage, configuration, and health checks.
- Manage DNS records, domain routing, TLS certificates, and reverse proxies.
- Maintain CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, and relevant build agents.
- Execute deployments with migration checks, rollback plans, and post-deployment verification.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents, addressing root causes.
- Coordinate outsourced developers and specialists by clarifying requirements, reviewing deliverables, and managing dependencies.
- Mentor developers through code reviews, demonstrations, and constructive feedback.
- Ensure solutions remain proportionate to the problem, controlling complexity, infrastructure costs, and maintenance overhead.

Required Qualifications
- Proven senior-level experience delivering and maintaining production web applications.
- Strong frontend skills with modern frameworks, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Solid backend development expertise, including secure APIs, integrations, validation, and error handling.
- Practical experience integrating AI or large language model capabilities, managing output quality, failures, latency, and usage costs.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants or agentic development workflows, with independently verified results.
- Strong SQL and relational database knowledge, including migrations, indexing, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
- Proficient Linux administration and Docker deployment skills.
- Working understanding of DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, firewalls, ports, and reverse proxies.
- Practical CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions and familiarity with Azure DevOps repositories and pipelines.
- Strong Git workflow, pull-request, code-review, and release management skills.
- Previous leadership or coordination experience with development teams or technical delivery.
- Demonstrated mentoring ability and clear communication of technical decisions.
- Experience working with outsourced developers, contractors, or distributed teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions within a startup budget.
- Commitment to a long-term, full-time role with increasing responsibility.
